Project ENDURO is currently in negotiations to undertake a 24- hour downhill mountain bike world record in June 2015.

Seeking the unthinkable, the team is confident that with the right riders, they can smash the current world record.

Disability Sports Wales will officially support the World Record attempt and will be the nominated charity for the event.

In January 2015, Nathan Stephens, a Gold -winning Paralympian and ambassador for Disability Sports Wales, rode the bike at the Afan Valley Park.

His feedback on his experience was extremely positive Nathan said: “Had a brilliant morning with the Project ENDURO team getting sorted for my first ever downhill run, the machine is a one of a kind beast! Can’t wait for it to be unleashed.”

Working with Natural Resources Wales and Welsh Trail Centres

In support of Project ENDURO bikes, Natural Resources Wales had a bespoke coaching track built at Afan Argoed which enables novice riders to develop skills in a safe environment.

Cwmcarn Cycle Centre, Anturstiniog Bike Trail centre and Black Mountain Cycle Centre had trails modified to make them more accessible for disabled users of the project`s bikes.Test and development riders have included Emyr Davies, professional World Cup DH rider.

Disabled athletes involved in the project have included Arnur Larusson, a T2 Paralympian, amputees from Help for Heroes and elite sports personality Nathan Stephens.

Bike Park Wales has also specifically modified its blue graded trail to make it more suitable for the Project ENDURO Bikes. The bikes have been successfully ridden on the majority of blue, red and black trails at the park.

Exciting times ahead for Project ENDURO

Not only has Project ENDURO exhibited at the prestigious Core Bike Show 2015 at Silverstone, a hugely successful showcase for the project as the interest shown from the biking world was phenomenal.. with interest from two potential Global sponsors. Coming up.. After receiving great news that the project has been nominated under the `Adventure` category at the celebrated Llanberis Film Festival 2015. The team will be tentatively attending and showcasing the bike.
